Staff at the home coordinated a packed week of entertainment activities for residents to enjoy as part of their work to highlight and raise awareness of the condition.

On Tuesday, staff organised a cup cake sale to help raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society.

On Thursday, residents enjoyed a day trip to a local garden centre, selecting and purchasing plants and seeds for their garden.  They later helped to plant them.

On Friday, a specially themed 1960’s reminiscence session was held with games and music.

Staff at the home know how important it is to create environments full of visual and musical triggers, to help stimulate memories of times gone by, that lead to enjoyable conversations with residents, many of whom live with the challenges that dementia poses.
