Mr Stuart ClarksonManaging Director
Stuart Clarkson has been working in Healthcare senior management for the past 10 years. Prior to this, he worked at Director level in the drinks and marketing industry and in private equity. He is passionate about care and wants to see Cornwallis delivering a very special service and to see care workers recognised for the fantastic work that they do.
Ms Bridget VarneyOperations Director
Bridget joined Cornwallis Care Services as Operations Director in January 2017. She brings over 30 years’ experience in the Health and Social Care Sector, working for not for profit and profit organisations.
Bridget has worked in Senior Management positions for over 15 years and is trained in Dementia Care, Leadership and Management and Human Resource Management. Bridget is keen to see Cornwallis Care Services as the care provider of choice – where high quality care is provided by skilled and compassionate teams with a dedicated focus on maintaining and improving the quality of life of those who live with us.
Ms Jan HalfordNurse Consultant
Jan has had a wide and varied nursing career, starting out as a newly qualified nurse in a cottage hospital, to working as a Nursing home manager.
Jan trained as one of the first “project 2000” degree led nursing students, firstly here in Cornwall, affiliated to Plymouth University, then completing her training in Hereford, affiliated to Warwick University.
She joined the NHS as a newly qualified nurse in 1997, working predominately in the community, both as a hospital- based nurse, then 10 years as a District Nurse.
Jan left the NHS in 2012 and has worked in the care home sector ever since.
For the last 2 years she has been the Clinical Manager/ Deputy General Manager of a 104 bedded home.
Jan is passionate about providing the best care possible for our residents, ensuring that standards are high and that our residents receive the most up to date and current nursing practice.
